Congratulations to the creators of the animated short film, "Hair Love!"
Matthew Cherry wrote the film and Karen Rupert Toliver produced it. They accepted the award and made sure to thank everyone who helped make the film a success, including celebrities such as Isa Rae, Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade, Yara Shahidi and Jordan Peele.
Cherry is a former NFL football player. He says he wrote the film to "normalize black hair." Cherry also walked the red carpet with the Texas teen who was told by his school that he couldn't participate in graduation because he refused to cut his locs.
