Happy Birthday to Smokey Robinson!
The Grammy award-winning artist is celebrating 80 years of life this we. He was born on February 19, 1940 as William Robinson Jr. in Detroit, Michigan and started singing younger than the age of 10 years old.
He rose to fame in the 1950s when in the group called The Miracles. Robinson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and is truly a legend. He was great friends with the late, Aretha Franklin and they actually lived several houses down from each other at one point.
